Monchi: Together in pursuit of the three points on Sunday

EFLK

Roma sporting director Monchi has issued a rallying cry ahead of Sunday's Serie A finale against Genoa, underlining its importance for the club.

The Giallorossi need to win at the Stadio Olimpico to guarantee second place in the Serie A standings, and with it automatic progression to the group stages of next season's Champions League.

That would ensure the club has additional stability and financial security to plan for the new campaign, which would not be the case if the side slipped to third (and a place in the final play-off round) on the final day.

The game is guaranteed to be hugely popular worldwide, as Francesco Totti plays in his final game for his hometown team, and Monchi hopes the side can achieve its immediate aims while also giving Totti a fitting send-off.

"All together to get the three points: so we hear the Champions League anthem again, and for Francesco [Totti]," Monchi wrote on Twitter.

"See you Sunday, forza Roma!"
