With coach Eusebio Di Francesco up early to speak to Roma TV, his squad soon joined him as they embarked on the first full day's work of the new season.
"You can certainly work well in Trentino," Di Francesco said. "My mother is from this region, so I know the area well and the kindess of the people.
"We hope to make the most of this week, it will be a chance to get to know the many youngsters we have brought to the training camp – and maybe some of them will be able to impress and develop with the first team.”
The players returned in the afternoon for a second sesson, with a focus on defensive shape and positioning as Di Francesco began the process of implementing his vision.
Alongside the day's football matters there was plenty more going on, however, with Maxime Gonalons presented to the press for the first time (alongside sporting director Monchi), Emerson Palmieri taking part in a Twitter Q&A, and a variety of players greeting fans at sites around the training camp.

What was said?
After Di Francesco's early interview with Roma TV, Maxime Gonalons and Monchi spoke to the press at lunchtime - before Emerson took part in his social media interview...
“I thank Monchi and the coach for the faith they’ve shown and for having brought me here. We’ve got a strong team here and we’re playing in a very competitive league. I’m here to win titles and I know ... we’ll do our best to compete – there’s a real will to win.”
- Maxime Gonalons

"Now it’s time to build a team, which will be supplemented with potential purchases in the transfer market."We’re working on [a number of things] and we hope to get something done as soon as possible. My philosophy is this: I prefer to get the player I want, even if it’s late in the day, rather than rushing into things.”
- Monchi

"I really did not expect that Francesco would stop and say something to me. It made me very happy at a difficult time. "He told me that I am young, strong, and that accidents like the one I suffered happen but must be faced head-on."
- Emerson Palmieri

In the evening, the squad met fans in the town square in Pinzolo, with Di Francesco and Monchi thanking supporters for the warm welcome they have received since joining the club.
"For me today is an important day because it is the first time that I speak publicly in Italian," Monchi said. "I thank the Mayors of Pinzolo and Trentino for hospitality, and I want to thank all of you too. You have come a long way to be here.
"You are our strength, our the secret will be pushing forward together. Forza Roma!"
Two training sessions are planned once again, with the squad at work in the morning and afternoon.
After the morning training session, defender Rick Karsdorp will be presented to the press following his transfer from Feyenoord Rotterdam.
In the evening, a selection of players will hold a special audience with some of the youngest fans following the team this week.
