“It's always nice to get compliments but I have to thank my team-mates who helped me today. It was a tough match and we knew it would be. “They were all difficult. Perhaps the trickiest was the last one when I kept out Saul's header in the dying minutes."

“Not at all. Spalletti rates me and I rate him too. I learned loads last year. I waited a long time to get my chance but that's all part of the game. It's up to the coach to pick who plays and [Wojciech] Szczesny had performed well. I bided my time and now my time has come. That's all I'm thinking about.”
