Schick to return to contention against Genoa

SCHi

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has confirmed that striker Patrik Schick will be in the squad for Sunday's Serie A clash with Genoa

The forward, a summer signing from Sampdoria, has not featured in a game for the Giallorossi since September's win over Hellas Verona - while he has not been named in a matchday squad since the win over Bologna at the end of October.

But Schick will be on the bench on Sunday and could play a part in the contest.

"He will definitely be in the squad," Di Francesco said. "In the last few days he has trained fully alongside the rest of the squad.

"If you are asking me how long he can play then I can't really tell you that; certainly he won't start the game but he is available and we are all very pleased about that."

Di Francesco confirmed that Edin Dzeko will once again lead the line at the Marassi, while Aleksandar Kolarov and Kevin Strootman will also start.

"Edin plays in that central area and always makes himself available to teammates," Di Francesco said. "Perhaps in the last few games he did not get so many openings but I am convinced he will be back among the goals soon.

"It's never nice for a striker not to score, but he knows that the team comes first."
