Cengiz scored after just 43 seconds at the Stadio Bentegodi, a fine strike that ultimately decided the game.
And the forward admitted afterwards it was a huge moment for him to open his account for the Giallorossi.
“I’m very pleased to have helped decide the game," Cengiz said.
"I’ve been dreaming of scoring my first goal for a while. We have worked hard during the week to prepare for this game. Now we need to continue like this: I want to score a lot more goals for Roma.”
After starting the last three games for the side, and capping the most recent performance with a goal, the 20-year-old is starting to find his feet in Serie A.
“The first three months were tough for me but now I feel much better," he said. "I am starting to understand the language, which means I better understand what the coach is saying and the tactical instructions he gives.
"At the same time it allows me to talk more with my teammates, which is great. I feel better with every passing week in this city and I want to continue pushing on.”
He added: “We can say that after the winter break it was a new Cengiz that returned. I have to the thank the coach, he has been patient with me and helped build my confidence.”
