Alisson: Important not to slip up

AIGM

Alisson Becker was pleased with his side's professional performance, as they secured a 2-1 win over Genoa on Wednesday night.

While the Brazilian goalkeeper acknowledged that the Giallorossi did not produce their best performance of the season, the important thing was always to win the game - which Eusebio Di Francesco's side did with only occasional moments of distress.

“There are no easy games in football," Alisson said. "We were able to dig in tonight. We need to make sure we don’t slip up at this stage of the season. We have to stay focused. We won in the end and that’s what counts.”

He added: “2-0 is a dangerous score line. We stayed tight at the back and kept them at bay, but we got caught once moving the ball out and they scored. The key was that we got the win.”

With Inter Milan and Lazio both also winning on the night, the race to qualify for next season's Champions League remains as tight as ever.

“Yes, I think it’ll go to the last moment," he said. "All of us won our games. The most important thing is not to slip up and keep winning games.

“We’re focused first of all on Saturday’s game against SPAL, then we’ll think about Liverpool.”
