AS Roma are pleased to confirm that goalkeeper Antonio Mirante has joined the club from Serie A side Bologna.

Mirante, 34, joins the Giallorossi for a fee of €4 million.

The Italian has signed an three-year contract with the Giallorossi that runs until 30 June 2021.

“Becoming a Roma player is a proud moment for me,” Mirante said.

“It was something that I really wanted – this is the right moment in my career and I think it will be a great step for me.”

Mirante has spent the last three seasons at Bologna, making 90 appearances for the Emilia-Romagna club in all competitions.

A product of the Juventus youth academy, Mirante has also played for Crotone, Siena, Sampdoria and Parma during a long and productive career in Italian football.

“I am very pleased to welcome Antonio to Roma,” said Roma’s sporting director Monchi.

“We are adding to our squad a player with a wealth of experience between the sticks, with more than 300 appearances in Serie A.

“I am also sure he will have an important role to play in aiding the development of our younger goalkeepers.”

Mirante becomes Roma's fifth arrival of the summer, after Ante Coric, Ivan Marcano, Bryan Cristante and Justin Kluivert.
