3x3: Roma’s player of the season, Serie A Champions League teams and UCL final predictions

Renowned Roma fan Alessio Ambrosetti is joined by Nicholas Longo from Roma Club Montreal and Luca Martano on Roma Club New York’s tenth anniversary, as they are put on the spot with three topical football questions…

The Roma Question: Who was your AS Roma player of the season?

Alessio / @AmbrosettiATX: “I think the best player has definitely been Alisson. He has become a true world-class keeper and has saved us on multiple occasions.”

Nick / @LongoNicholasJr: “Alisson. He gave Roma such a strong mindset, which has always been an issue for us. With Alisson being consistent on a weekly basis it gave the team the belief this year to push even harder, and they gained confidence during the campaign.”

Luca / @LucaMartano: “Dzeko. Compared to last year he may have scored less goals, but he lead us in the Champions League until the semi-final and played an amazing role in Serie A. I think he became the real leader of the team.”

The Serie A Question: Who would you rather qualify for the Champions League between Lazio and Inter and why?

@AmbrosettiATX: “That’s a tough one... I wouldn’t mind Inter just because it would mean Lazio loses the next game to their loving friends.”

@LongoNicholasJr: “In the Champions League, I always like to see underdogs go far and although I am a Roma fan and I should hate Lazio... I would prefer Lazio to make it. Inter keep spending money on players, but are not able to get unified consistent chemistry where Lazio surprised many and play very well together!”

@LucaMartano: “Inter, of course. The reason is very simple: I’m a Roma fan and every other team is better than Lazio. I will watch Sunday’s match with a lot of interest.”

The General Football Question: Who do you want to win the Champions League final and who do you think will win it?

@AmbrosettiATX: “I would love for Liverpool to win it because I do not like Ronaldo... but I would like Real to win it because I do not like Liverpool! In the end, I think Real will win it because they are more used to that stage.”

@LongoNicholasJr: “I would like Liverpool to win it, as they really play some nice football up front. It’s very exciting to watch the runs made by the three forwards, who understand each other so well and can place through balls in tight and open spaces. Realistically though, Real Madrid has a stronger team all-around and in 90 minutes, that will make all the difference. Going back to the the Roma-Liverpool first leg, had Roma played with four in the back, that 5-2 scoreline would have looked a lot different. So Liverpool really need to sort things out in the back in order to have a chance against Real Madrid.”

@LucaMartano: “Before Roma-Liverpool, I would have said Liverpool, but after that match, I’m saying Real Madrid. Roma didn’t deserve to lose against the Reds and the referee was terrible during that match. I also saw a pretty weak team in defence and I think that Cristiano Ronaldo can really take advantage of that.”
