Di Francesco: We are all praying for Sean Cox's recovery

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has called on supporters to observe Wednesday's Champions League game against Liverpool in the right manner, as he expressed his hopes for the healthy recovery of Liverpool supporter Sean Cox.

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has spoken about how he, his staff and his players have all been praying for Liverpool supporter Sean Cox, who remains in a critical condition in hospital, and called on Roma supporters to observe Wednesday's game against Liverpool in the right manner.

Speaking ahead of the weekend's Serie A game against Chievo Verona, Di Francesco condemned the incidents that occurred at Anfield last week - and called on Giallorossi supporters to ensure that when Liverpool come to the Stadio Olimpico next week for one of the biggest European nights in the club's recent history, the match will be celebrated for the right reasons.

“We condemn any and all forms of violence," Di Francesco stated. "The team, my staff and I have all been thinking about and praying for Sean Cox and his family.

"My hope is that the second leg will be played in an inclusive, celebratory atmosphere: for football, and for sport in general. This is my appeal to our supporters.”
