AS Roma and FNATIC are pleased to announce that Sam ‘Poacher’ Carmody has signed a new contract.

The 18-year-old English gamer has signed a contract extension until September 1, 2019 and will continue to represent the Giallorossi in FIFA tournaments around the world.

‘Poacher’ was one of Roma’s first three FIFA signings, joining the Roma eSports team in February 2017. He has made nine appearances at live competitive events around the globe over the past year. In June, Carmody finished in second place in the Imperdible Cup, a tournament in which he defeated Manchester City’s Kez Brown to reach the finals. In August, he missed out on the semi-finals of the first ever FIFA Interactive Club World Cup on goal difference. In December, he made the semi-finals of the Strawberry Fields Cup charity tournament in Lithuania.

“I’m very happy to be signing a new deal with FNATIC and AS Roma,” he said. “The past year has changed my life for the better, and I have the experiences and teammates to thank for that. I look forward to the progress we can make as as a team in the coming years and I hope I can bring success to the squad.”

In FIFA 17 FUT Champions, ‘Poacher’ finished as high as fifth monthly, while placing first in the world weekly just one week after signing for the club. Carmody has continued his good form into FIFA 18, where he has cracked the top 50 in Europe for the first two months of FUT Champions and has already competed against the world's best FIFA competition at the first FIFA 18 FUT Champions Cup in Barcelona, where he coached his hometown friend Donovan 'DhTekKz' Hunt to victory.
