Sassuolo 0-1 Roma Women: Bartoli comes up big in injury time!

Roma Women captain Elisa Bartoli grabbed the injury-time winner as the Giallorosse beat Sassuolo 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Against determined opposition, Alessandro Spugna's side had to dig in and be patient - with Bartoli ultimately providing the decisive intervention just as it looked like they might have to settle for a draw.

"It's three massive points that keep us up near the top of the table," Bartoli said afterwards.

"We are all delighted. It was a tough game but we knew it was going to be - Sassuolo are a really good side. We are pleased to get the win."

The side will now look to take the momentum into their next match; they host Slavia Prague in their first-ever Women's Champions League group stage match on Thursday.

"I am pleased that the team kept going, kept trying - from the first minute to the last," Spugna said.

"In the end they were rewarded for that. It shows that the side are starting to build a winning mentality."
