After edging past Sparta Prague in the Champions League in midweek, Alessandro Spugna's side returned to domestic action against La Viola - at the start of the day, the league leaders.
The Giallorosse initially went behind after Michela Catena's goal against the run of play, before Sophie Roman Haug and Valentina Giacinti scored in the second half to complete a remarkable turnaround.
"It was a tough match against a good team," Haug said afterwards.
"We made it a bit difficult for ourselves but it was a good comeback and an important win."
Roma are back in action at the same venue on Thursday; Sparta visiting the Italian capital for the second leg of their tie.
"It was a great performance, especially in the second half," Spugna said.
"We went behind against a side that are very good at attacking you on the break, but we took the game to them. They are three points that we fully deserved, and it feels better because we were in a tough spot for a while."
