Belotti delighted to open his Roma account

Andrea Belotti got his first goal in Roma colours on Thursday night, helping the Giallorossi to a 3-0 win over HJK Helsinki.

Belotti rounded off the scoring at the Stadio Olimpico, tapping home midway through the second half to clinch an invaluable three points for Jose Mourinho's side.

Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the game's other goals; both of them coming in the first five minutes of the second half.

“It’s an amazing feeling to score in front of your fans, to hear their roar," Belotti said.

"It was magical to hear them shouting my name.

"I am pleased with the goal and my performance for the team after we lost the first game. This needs to motivate us to do better going forward.”

How much fun was it to be a part of that second half?

“I think that when you are playing like we did in the second half, with players like Pellegrini, Zaniolo and Dybala, for a striker it all becomes much easier. They have incredible skill on the ball and they show that constantly.

"Today that’s how the game evolved; in the first half we were a bit stuck but regardless of who plays or what setup we are in everyone has to give their best.”

You seem to be the starter in the Europa League…

“I am here to be at the disposal of the coach and my teammates. We have an incredible coach who makes the decisions and when he sends us out there we have to show what we are capable of.

"There is Tammy Abraham and Eldor Shomurodov here as well and that’s a motivation for me to give my best every time, because they are top quality players and they show it every day.”
