Match Pack: Everything you need to know ahead of Juventus meeting!

Ahead of one of the biggest matches in Roma Women history on Saturday afternoon, we take a closer look at all the details you should know...

On Saturday at 14:30 CET, Vinovo will be the setting as Matchday 16 of the 2021-22 Serie A season presents one of biggest games of the campaign to date.

Roma Women head up north to face the league leaders currently sitting just three points behind them - meaning that a victory over the Bianconere would level things up at the top of the table and set the stage for a thrilling finale to the current campaign.

Here's everything worth knowing about the contest...

    Form Guide

Roma have won their last nine games in Serie A, the longest such streak in their history and the longest active streak of any club this season.

After winning 2-0 against Inter Milan the last time out, the Giallorosse will be looking to keep back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since February 2021.

Juventus, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of a defeat against Empoli last weekend - a loss that dragged them back towards the chasing pack at the top of the table.

Not since April 2018 have they lost successive league encounters (against Brescia and Fiorentina).

    Notable Statistics

Roma are yet to win a game at Vinovo - with their only win to date against the Bianconere coming in the home leg of last year's Coppa Italia semi-finals. On that occasion, when the two sides returned to Turin for the second leg, Roma lost 3-2 on the day - progressing via the away goals rule.

The nine-game goalscoring streak Spugna's side are currently on matches the all-time club record - last reached between December 2019 and February 2020. On that occasion, the Covid pandemic prevented a tenth game being reached.

Juventus (82%) and Roma (81%) are the two sides who have completed the highest percentage of passes so far in this Serie A season. They also lead the league in total shots (289 for Roma, 277 for Juventus) and shots on target (112 for Roma, same as AC Milan, with Juventus on 108).

    Focus on the Opposition

Juventus have conceded four goals in their last two matches in the league - one more than they conceded in the 15 matches prior to that. After drawing against Fiorentina in their last home game, a second successive failure to win at home would be the first time they have ever suffered such a dip in the competition.

The Bianconere have, nevertheless, not lost in 38 home games in Serie A - winning 36 of those and drawing the other two. You have to go back to April 2018 for the last time they lost at home, against Brescia.

Juventus have won all six previous Serie A meetings with the Giallorosse, scoring 16 goals to Roma's two.

Cristiana Girelli scored twice in the last home league meeting between these sides (a December 2020 4-1 win). The Italy international has five goals in 11 games so far this season, more than half (12) her tally at the same stage of last season's campaign.

The next appearance for both Cristiana Girelli and Sara Gama will be their 100th in Juventus colours in all competitions.

Andrea Staskova scored the decisive goal in the first meeting between these two sides this season - if she scores again on Saturday Roma would become the fourth side against whom the Czechia player has scored against both home and away.

    Roma Focus
