The Primavera got their 2021-22 season off to a winning start on Sunday morning, as they romped to victory against Torino.
Two goals in either half were enough for the Under-19's to romp to an opening three points, with Joel Persson, Benjamin Tahirovic, Cristian Volpato and Yuri Rocchetti all on the scoresheet.
"The boys were almost perfect, given everything," coach Alberto De Rossi said afterwards.
"You can never say things are 100% perfect, but today we weren't fair off."
The young side started out in a 3-4-1-2 system that differed from what we have often seen from the team in years past.
"As coaches we don't decide the formation - we base it on the players, on their qualities," De Rossi added>
"Our wide players are not really full-backs, and not really wing-backs either, so we put them in a position where they need to learn how to defend there.
"In midfield, meanwhile, we have a physicality that helps us a lot - today Tahirovic and Faticanti played amazingly.
"Up front, meanwhile, we have five forwards that are going to create a lot and are a brilliant outlet for the team."
