Pau Lopez: We didn't perform as we have been doing

Pau Lopez admitted Roma were not at their best, as they slipped to an unexpected defeat against Parma on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts ran out 2-0 winners at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, as Valentin Mihaila and Hernani grabbed the goals in a vital victory for the side.

The Spanish goalkeeper admitted afterwards that the team only had themselves to blame.

"In the first half we were slow, we didn’t play well. And then we conceded a goal we could have avoided,” Lopez said.

“Conceding the first goal changes the game. Today we weren’t at the level we have been recently.”

He added: “It’s difficult to say something positive about today. We wanted these three points for the race for the top four; we can’t afford to lose games like this when there are so many sides fighting it out for Champions League qualification.

"Now we have two vital games before the international break – we need to be focused on those.”
