    Serturini delighted with star turn

Serturini scored the opener - after just two minutes - and then played a pivotal role in Lindsey Thomas's late winner, as the Giallorosse set themselves up for the second leg with a 2-1 win at Stadio Tre Fontane.

Serturini is now also up to 10 goals this season - the second double-figure haul of her career with the club.

“We are really happy – we know that it is only the first leg, but it was crucial we got a victory," Serturini said.

"The second leg will be incredibly tough but we will take things game-by-game. It has been a tough week, but we turned that adversity into fuel and I think you saw that."

Roma had to deal with some adversity - captain Elisa Bartoli was forced to watch from the sidelines, while Andressa Alves limped off with a second half injury - yet somehow managed to produce a landmark result.

“Elisa spoke to me yesterday; she told me how much she was counting on me, it really fired me up," Serturini revealed. "Scoring so quickly against Juve is hard to describe.

"She [Elisa] is our leader. It was tough for her to be unavailable, but she was as close as she could be to us and we had her supporting us from the first minute to the last.

"But now we have to put this game behind us, we need to think about the league games against Inter and San Marino – and then we will worry about that second leg against Juventus.”
