Kumbulla hopes Roma move will help him with national team

The centre-back, who completely his move to the Giallorossi last month, is hopeful the step up in standard at club level will serve him in good stead with his country - as he looks to establish himself in the first team there too.

"I'm really happy, because I've joined a club in Italy with so much history," Kumbulla told reporters.

"I think this will help me with the national team too - but in the end the coach will decide who plays."

Asked about his debut against Juventus, the 20-year-old added: "I swapped shirts with [Giorgio] Chiellini.

"He's my idol - he congratulated me on my decision to join Roma."
