Stat Attack: Facts to know before Bologna trip

With Roma heading to the Renato Dall’Ara to take on Bologna on Sunday (kick-off: 15:00 CET), we look at 10 stats worth knowing ahead of the Serie A Matchday 11 encounter.

On a roll

Roma have scored twice in each of their last three games against Bologna, while there has been at least one goal by either side in the second half of all the previous five meetings between the two.

Home away from home

Since the 2009-10 season, only Juventus and Inter (seven) have claimed more Serie A wins at the Renato Dall’Ara than Roma’s six victories.

Travel goals

The Giallorossi have scored in 15 of their last 16 visits to Bologna, with the only occasion during that run where they failed to find the back of the net coming in September 2018.

On the front foot

Paulo Fonseca’s team have completed more successful dribbles (107) than any team in Serie A this season and are the only side to have at least four players who have dribbled beyond an opponent 12 times or more.

European leader

Only Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (11) and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish (10) have been involved in more goals than Henrikh Mkhitaryan (nine) among midfielders across the entirety of Europe’s top-five leagues.

100 club

Both Juan Jesus and Bruno Peres made their 100th Roma appearances in the Europa League defeat to CSKA Sofia on Thursday night, joining Edin Dzeko (233), Federico Fazio (163) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (120) as the five current squad members with over 100 appearances for the Giallorossi.

Obligatory goalscoring

Dzeko has scored in four of his five games against Bologna at the Dall’Ara in Serie A - and needs just one more goal to move third on the club's list of all-time leading goalscorers.

Former favourite

If he overcomes his injury concerns to play, the Renato Dell'Ara will hold little fear or mystery for goalkeeper Antonio Mirante - who made 87 appearances for Bologna prior to joining the Giallorossi.

Creator at the back

Leonardo Spinazzola is one of only eight defenders to have created 10 or more scoring chances for their teammates in the Italian top-flight so far this season.

Surprise scorer

Argentina centre-back Fazio has bagged two goals against Bologna in Serie A, his joint-best return versus any single club in Italy alongside the two efforts Fazio has also put past Cagliari.
