Here's what Paulo Fonseca had to say following Wednesday's 3-2 win over Torino...
The Giallorossi clinched fifth spot in Serie A - and a guaranteed place in next season's Europa League group stage - thanks to goals from Edin Dzeko, Chris Smalling and Amadou Diawara.
You went for Bryan Cristante and Amadou Diawara as the midfield pairing tonight – so will they be the two starters against Sevilla, given that Jordan Veretout is suspended? Were you happy with how that combination worked?
“Yes, I was happy with Bryan’s performance – but we have other options in that position as well.”
Could Nicolo Zaniolo start against Juventus on Saturday?
“We will see, I spoke to him before this game and he told me that in all honesty he didn’t feel ready to start the game. So the next match could be a good opportunity for him to play a bit more?
Why has this side not managed to find form like this before?
“I have to say that I prefer the other setup we have but the team has responded well to this change.”
What will Roma have to do to progress in the Europa League?
“Our fans want to win. We want to win too, but we have to know that it is not going to be easy. We are going to be facing a side that has won this competition so many times. There are a lot of great teams still in the hunt, so we will have to focus on Sevilla and then see what happens after that.
“Over the last few weeks the team has showed a spirit and hunger that I’ve really liked. We have changed the system and we are playing well, we are more aggressive and dominant and we deserved to win again today.”
Do you still lack a bit of a cutting edge?
“We have created a lot of chances where we’ve been let down by the final ball or the final decision. We scored three times but it’s true we had a lot of chances to do more damage.”
