The Giallorossi travel to face Torino on Wednesday, knowing a victory will ensure the side finish in the top-five this season.
That will clinch their spot in next season’s Europa League – and allow them to focus on the end of this season’s competition, which will see them face Sevilla in the last-16.
“Against Torino we want another three points, to clinch fifth place,” Diawara said.
“There’s still time to start thinking about the Europa League, but we are on the right path to be ready and prepared for the game against Sevilla.”
Paulo Fonseca’s side go into Wednesday’s game on a six-match unbeaten run, and full of confidence after beating Fiorentina 2-1 at the Olimpico on Sunday night.
“The win over Fiorentina was deserved, even if it wasn’t an easy game by any means,” Diawara said.
“But we prepared for it really well during the week and I think you could see that out on the pitch. We were able to put into practice everything the coach had asked of us.”
He added: “I think in this setup [the 3-4-2-1] I am a lot closer to the defence, so I have more space to take the ball and then from that point I have more passing options to choose from further up the field.
“I think we are all enjoying this new formation.”
