Sassuolo 0-0 Roma: Chances go begging as draw halts hopes

The Giallorossi somehow failed to score in a second half that saw the woodwork hit multiple times, before Federico Fazio had a late goal chalked off for an offside in the build-up.

But Sassuolo had a few clear-cut chances of their own, with Antonio Mirante producing a couple of key saves once again.

With Roma effectively needed to win both of their final two games to have a realistic chance of finishing in the top four in Serie A this season, the draw was not what Claudio Ranieri's side needed.

Roma end the season next weekend, at home to Parma.
