Garcia speaks on Paris attacks

Rudi Garcia today reflected on the Paris attacks that claimed 130 lives a week ago and insisted that despite those responsible targeting the very things that we love, we must ensure life goes on.

Garcia returned to his native country last Friday to watch France take on Germany at the Stade de France and was inside when three suicide bombers attacked the stadium, killing themselves and one innocent bystander.

"They attacked all the things we love about life: a football match, a concert and a restaurant."

Garcia had not spoken publicly about his experience since returning to Rome but pressed for a reaction by journalists during his pre-match press conference at Trigoria, he replied: “This is the only time I'll speak on the subject. My first thoughts go to the families of the victims and those wounded.

“They attacked all the things we love about life: a football match, a concert and a restaurant. Those responsible for the attacks aren't even human beings. Let's hope we find a solution to this blind terrorism.

"The safety mechanisms in football grounds work, it was effective this week at the Stade de France. Life must go on and the fact that France played England was an excellent response. We must not cancel all forms of entertainment, let's trust the political powers."
