Collection points will be set up around the Stadio Olimpico - close to the obelisk next to Piazza Lauro de Bosis and in Viale dei Gladiatori - before Roma v Atalanta on November 29.
As part of the program of joint initiatives with the Holy See during the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, the club has called upon its fans to act.
With their help, AS Roma will try to convert the love it regularly receives into a gesture of solidarity for those in less fortunate circumstances.
The club will try to add a touch of Giallorossi to the food it hands out, with supporters invited to give corn and tomatoes especially, which will then be distributed at the Community of Sant'Egidio, the Baobab Center and the Lazio Food Bank, as well as the Santa Lucia, Regina Mundi and Appio-Tuscolana soup kitchens.
‘Food Day’ is being organised and promoted in collaboration with the non-profit organization Equoevento, which works to recover and distribute food waste at charities and family centers.
With Roma Cares, the club intends to reconfirm its efforts to fight against food waste and support socially significant initiatives. Every Sunday since the beginning of last season, AS Roma has saved more than 5,000 high-nutrition meals from going to waste in the hospitality areas of the Stadio Olimpico, thanks to the work of volunteers from Equoevento.
