Here's the verdict given by six of Italy's national newspapers.
Il Corriere dello Sport: Wojciech Szczesny 7
Solid more than showy, he nonetheless played a key role. Pulled off a save with the score at 1-0 and made the right decisions before and after.
Il Corriere della Sera: Umar Sadiq 7
Still very rough around the edges but the potential is certainly there. Scored his first Serie A goal. Another smart move by Alberto De Rossi, who spotted him as an opponent with the Primavera.
Il Messaggero: Wojciech Szczesny 7
Two good saves, especially that stop from Darko Lazovic, and he oozed confidence throughout. Never looked like faltering. He seems to be over his dip.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: Antonio Rudiger 6.5
In a Roma side crying out for strong characters, the German is growing in confidence and even helps build attacking moves. If Roma are conceding less now, much of the credit must go to him.
Il Tempo: Umar Sadiq 7
Like a breath of fresh air, he put an end to Roma fans' suffering. He came on, ran, scored a true striker's goal and staked his claim for automatic promotion.
Tuttosport: Antonio Rudiger 6.5
A fan favourite since Napoli, Roma have stopped conceding since he stepped up his game.
