With just two points taken from their opening three Group E matches, Alberto De Rossi's side know they face an uphill task to qualify to the knock-out stages but Vasco is confident that Roma are still good enough to progress.
“We're in great shape and you could see that in our match against Bari on Saturday,” Vasco told Roma TV ahead of the match. “We're ready to take the game to them and show them from the outset what we're made of.”
We know all about Bayer Leverkusen now. What do Roma need to do to beat them?
“We have to put them under pressure from kick-off, as we did in the second-half at their place. In the first-half they started better and then we spoke together at half-time and understood a few things. After that we got on top of them.”
Roma have played three Youth League matches so far, drawn two and lost one but could have won them all…
“We've always been able to play our game and we'll try to do even better. We came up a bit short and we need to find something extra in the three remaining games if we want to go through.”
How are you doing yourself? Have you been practicing free-kicks?
“Yes, I hope to score soon because it's been a while but the main thing is that the team plays well and wins.”
How important will it be to have the fans behind you?
“We'd all love to see a big crowd there, like against Barcelona or even more. Come along and cheer us on!”
