Thursday will be the 10th time the Giallorossi have played a match officiated by the man from Abruzzo. Roma's record shows six wins and three defeats. In the midst of those matches came two losses (2-0 at home to Atalanta on 29 November 2015 and the same scoreline at home to Sampdoria on 16 March 2015) and a further five wins. Mehdi Benatia and Gervinho were on target in a 2-0 victory at Sampdoria on 25 September 2013, while Roma struck four at home to Genoa on 12 January 2014, with Alessandro Florenzi, Francesco Totti, Maicon and Benatia all finding the net.
Mattia Destro, Adem Ljajic and Totti were the scorers meanwhile in a 3-0 home victory over Chievo on 18 October 2014, before a 2-0 win at Sassuolo on 2 February 2016 came courtesy of goals from Salah and El Shaarawy.
Finally, the Giallorossi came from behind on 20 April 2016 to beat Torino 3-2 with a Kostas Manolas finish and a Totti double at the death.
