Roma overcame a 2-1 half-time deficit to beat Marco Giampaolo’s side 3-2 with the last kick of the game – Francesco Totti scoring the decisive goal.
And Pallotta, watching from the stands, was pleased with what he say.
“It shows how we should be playing the whole time,” Pallotta told reporters. “The second half, just like the first game [against Udinese]. Moving the ball - when we attack like that we are the best team in the league.
“We could have scored six goals in the second half. We played great, we played great in the second half.”
Asked about Totti, he added: “It’s not just Totti’s game. We play as a team. Totti made some great plays and some great passes, but if the rest of the guys aren’t playing well and aren’t moving it doesn’t matter. It’s not one guy.
“Francesco was great – it’s nice to see the fans come in, see him score at the end but it’s not about Francesco, as much as I love him, it’s about the whole team.”
The president was also asked about the ongoing situation surrounding Stadio della Roma. He insisted that everything is on track, and is looking forward to meeting Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi this week.
“We’re going to have a good stadium, a great stadium – and it’s on track,” he said. “There are no issues. I hope we can start tearing down the old hippodrome in March, or before.
“No-one has said anything negative about it all. Everybody wants it, the fans want it, the government wants it, we want it. It’s all privately financed, it will create a lot of jobs.
“I haven’t met the mayor yet, so I want to go so ‘hi’ [this week]. I hope everything will go well.”
