Dzeko brace earns Bosnia win over Cyprus

Dzeko

It was a night to remember for Edin Dzeko, whose double yesterday evening earned Bosnia a 2-0 victory over Cyprus in their qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup in Russia

The Roma striker, who was chosen to start the game by national team coach Mehmed Bazdarevic, opened the scoring on 70 minutes with an accurate right-foot finish.

He finished the visitors off nine minutes later with a header.

Two other Giallorossi players represented their countries on Monday, as they seek to qualify for Russia 2018: Kostas Manolas and Kevin Strootman.

The former played 90 minutes, helping Greece keep a clean-sheet in their 2-0 away win in Estonia.

Meanwhile Strootman featured for the duration of the Netherlands’ home defeat against France, who ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Paul Pogba strike.
