Luciano Spalletti's squad come into the second match of the Serie A season on the back of a disappointing Champions League defeat against Porto - but Rastelli expects the Giallorossi to be even more motivated as a result.
“I don't think losing to Porto will have a negative effect on them. I expect Roma to be determined to bounce straight back,” Rastelli told journalists ahead of Sunday's match at the Sant'Elia.
“Roma have an experienced, quality team and one of the best coaches in the business. They'll come here looking for three points.
“We know that we played really well at Genoa and it only turned pear-shaped for us in the last 10 minutes.
“But I always see the glass as half full and I prefer to concentrate on the many positives we can take from a match where a strong side forced us to play a different game to the one we'd prepared.
“We showed the right spirit: we fought for every ball and gave every ounce of energy. We have to push on from there."
The coach hinted that he could look to play a three-man backline to try and negate Roma's particular threat.
“We've worked on a three-man defence and a formation that allows us to bring in Nicolo Barella," he said. "You'll see how we line up tomorrow.
"Anything can happen in a one-off match. We want to produce a top performance because it's our first game in front of the fans.”
