Primavera boss Alberto De Rossi has revealed his players are determined to secure top spot in Group C of the Primavera championship before the Christmas break.
The Giallorossi travel to face Salernitana on Saturday at 11:00 CET in their first match back since the international break.
De Rossi's side are currently second in the table, one point behind leaders Atalanta after winning six of their seven matches to date, while Salernitana are struggling at the other end of the group.
“The lads know how the table looks and want to try to be top before Christmas,” De Rossi said. “The players are aware of the objectives we want to achieve.
"This group knows what it wants. On the pitch, they’re able to read any situation and react positively. They’re aware of how important our upcoming games are – that might seem normal, but it doesn’t happen in every group."
How have you used the international break?
“We’ve worked on recharging our batteries, though I don’t think that’s quite so necessary as it is with the seniors. Eight lads have come back from international duty on a real high after securing some great results. They’re a bit tired but those experiences with the national team are incredibly useful, so we’re happy to see them called up.”
What kind of match are you expecting from Salernitana?
“They’re a very well-organised team – a tough side to face, despite the fact that they’ve suffered a few heavy defeats. They’re the home team and I’m sure they’ll be giving everything they have to claim a big scalp. It’s a very tough place to go.”
