Salah: It's always great to get a goal

Mohamed Salah hopes the whole team can continue to improve at their current rate as they look to end the season with a trophy to show for it.

Salah continued his scintillating form since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations with another goal on Sunday, as Roma romped to a 4-1 home win against Torino.

"I’m happy to be back," Salah said. "At first I tried to help my country and, yes, we had bad luck in the final. But I’m happy to be back and to help my team.

"We are doing well. Everyone is improving. We are certainly doing well at the moment, we want to continue like this and at the end I hope we can win something."

Since returning Salah has seen his role change slightly, with the Egyptian and Nainggolan asked to play a bit closer to Edin Dzeko through the middle of the pitch.

Salah is then often asked mid-match to switch to a more conventional winger's role, adding to his responsibilities.

"For me I play whatever system the Mister chooses," he added. "I like to play both: I like to play outside and inside, for me it doesn’t make a big difference. Yes, the role is a bit different, but for me it makes no difference. I have played the last few games like this.

"It’s important to score a goal but the most important thing is the team wins, and Dzeko scores and whoever else scores. It’s not very important to score for me – of course I like to score, but the main thing is that the team wins."

Salah was also asked to rate the best goal of the night.

"It’s different, but Paredes’ goal was very good," he said. "But also the goal of Nainggolan was very good, I thought, with the passing beforehand from Francesco.

"There were some good goals today – I don’t know which one to choose! All four were great!"
