Michigan, who average 110,000 fans at home games and have won 11 national championships during their illustrious history, are here in Rome for a week of special educational and football experience for its student-athletes.
The Michigan players and staff are completing three of their allotted 15 spring football practices at AS Roma’s facilities in the city.
All week, the Wolverines have immersed themselves in the culture of Italy. The team have been visiting historic landmarks and spending time with youth at orphanages.
The experience will culminate on Saturday when the team will play a scrimmage.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for these young men to learn about and experience another culture, connect with the people of Italy and showcase American football internationally,” said Warde Manuel, Michigan’s Director of Athletics.
The doors to the Marmi Stadium open at 12:00 CEST, with the scrimmage - a spectacular way to wrap up the Michigan athletes’ trip to Rome – beginning at 14:00 CEST.
