The Under-19s - reigning champions in the competition - finished fourth in group C of the tournament, after Virtus Entella won against Frosinone on the final day of the league campaign to move ahead of them.
That means De Rossis's side will have to come through the play-off rounds in order to reach the Final Eight once again.
After taking 53 points from the regular season, Roma has the best record of all the fourth-placed finishers in the respective groups - so they will play the first round of the play-offs at home against Sassuolo.
The game will take place on Saturday May 20 (TBC) and, if the Giallorossi win, they will come up against the victorious side from the clash between Virtus Entella and Genoa.
That game will take place the following Saturday, May 27 (again, TBC).
The winner of that tie will reach the Final Eight, the knockout stage to decide the Scudetto winner, which takes place from June 2-10 in Reggio Emilia, Modena and Sassuolo.
