Rudiger's Germany into Confederations Cup final at expense of Moreno

IM

Antonio Rudiger and Germany got the upper hand on Hector Moreno's Mexico on Thursday to book their place in the final of the Confederations Cup.

Joachim Loew's side emerged 4-1 winners in the competition's second semi-final, and will now face Chile in Sunday evening's final.

Leon Goretzka scored twice inside the first 10 minutes to give Germany an immediate advantage, before Timo Werner scored on the hour-mark to effectively seal things.

Substitute Marco Fabian got one back in the 89th minute for Mexico, but Amin Younes scored in injury time to restore the three-goal margin.

Both Rudiger and Moreno played the full 90 minutes.

Mexico will now face Portugal on Sunday afternoon in the third-fourth play-off.
