Sporting director Monchi believes Roma will have to hit the ground running, following the confirmation of the fixture list for the 2017-18 Serie A campaign.
The Giallorossi open the new season in Bergamo against Atalanta during the weekend of August 20, before hosting Inter Milan - and former coach Luciano Spalletti - a week later at the Stadio Olimpico.
And Monchi believes both games will provide a stern test.
"It's certainly a complicated start to the campaign," Monchi said. "We will play against the biggest revelation from last season [Atalanta] and then Inter Milan, one of the candidates to finish at the top of the table.
"So we will have to be ready for these initial challenges, attacking them with the confidence we have in our approach."
