Gonalons knows PSG well from his Olympique Lyonnais days - and believes the game in Detroit against a settled, experienced side like Unai Emery's will be a valuable test for the Giallorossi.
“I don’t know if I will start – you should ask that question to the coach," Gonalons said. "I am looking forward to playing in this game, against an opponent that I know well and have faced a number of times.
"They are a great team, they have not changed much [this summer] and so will be difficult to beat.”
The French midfielder believes the team have already done a lot of good work under coach Eusebio Di Francesco, as the club looks to make sure they are ready for the new campaign.
“Now we will face one of the best teams in Europe, but our objective is to prepare as well as possible for the start of the season," Gonalons added.
"We have great structure in our training. Roma is a very important team, while we are here we want to demonstrate all our qualities and values and on off the pitch. Yesterday's visit to the University of Michigan was a great experience - it was interesting to observe and see the great facilities they have.
"We have three big games coming up now - against PSG tomorrow will be an important test as we look towards the new campaign.”
