Dzeko: I’m back and here to stay!

Edin Dzeko struck twice as Roma beat Verona 3-0 at home and admitted after the game that he could have scored more.

“It was important to win this evening,” the Bosnian international stated immediately after the final whistle. “These games are always tough, especially when you think they’re already in the bag. I could have scored more but, in the end, we won. We need to keep going in this way and improve even more.”

Was the criticism during the week over the top?

“It’s more or less always like that. You need to be focused here at Roma. We don’t always win these games. If we can get that focus in our ranks, it’s a positive for us. We can all grow as a unit.”

Next up you have Benevento followed by Udinese – there’s a chance of picking up six points…

“To pick those up we need more focus. We saw that during the week and we hope to sustain it.”
