Alisson keeps another clean sheet as Brazil frustrated

IMGA

Roma goalkeeper Alisson kept a clean sheet as Brazil were held to a World Cup qualifying draw with Bolivia on Thursday.

The Selecao, who have already qualified for next summer's tournament in Russia, could not find a winning goal despite dominating Bolivia in the final third, with Alisson a spectator for much of the contest.

Brazil finish their World Cup qualifying campaign against Chile on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Federico Fazio watched from the substitutes' bench as Argentina's qualification hopes were dealt a blow with a goalless draw against Peru.

The result drops the Albiceleste out of the qualification spots with just one game remaining - meaning they must beat Ecuador in La Paz on Tuesday to at least claim a play-off berth.

Lukasz Skorupski (Poland) and Bogdan Lobont (Romania) both also watched from the sidelines on Thursday night, as their countries earned comfortable wins.

Poland beat Armenia 6-1, while Romania were comfortable 3-1 winners over Kazakhstan. Lobont, called up to the national team for the first time in four years, observed much of the match alongside Romania's video analysts - perhaps indicating his future role with the setup.

"I came back with pleasure," Lobont was quoted as saying afterwards. "Although I have not been physically present for the last four years, I have been with the national team and I will continue.

"I think we are all happy, we have had a positive debut, with an important victory. We have to work a lot as a team, to build a strong identity."
