Italy will not be at next summer's World Cup in Russia after they failed to beat Sweden in the second leg of their play-off tie on Monday night.
Trailing 1-0 after the first leg, the Azzurri were unable to score against their opponents at Milan's San Siro - with the eventual 0-0 draw ensuring the country will miss out on the World Cup for the first time since 1958.
Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi played all 90 minutes during the game, while Stephan El Shaarawy was introduced as a second-half substitute as the home side chased a vital goal.
Daniele De Rossi remained on the bench throughout.
