Manolas: We're brimming with confidence

See what goalscorer Kostas Manolas had to say in the aftermath of Roma's 4-2 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday.

Manolas put the Giallorossi ahead for the third time in the game early in the second half, as Eusebio Di Francesco's side made it 12 straight away wins in Serie A - a new league record.

It was a good win at a tough ground today…

"It’s not easy to win here in a tricky stadium and against a team like Fiorentina. We’ve shown that we’re a good side. We took the lead multiple times and it was the quality of the opposition that saw them score their two goals. We need to keep this up – we’re a great team."

You didn’t lose heart after conceding the two goals – the confidence seems really high right now.

"We’re definitely brimming with confidence. We made lots of changes today but we’re a proper team. The coach deserves credit for that because all of the players feel important and work hard. We need to maintain this mentality moving forward."

You scored today like you did in Baku. Edin Dzeko flicked it on but how did you manage to make contact?

"I was unlucky against Chelsea on Tuesday, but this time the ball hit my shoulder and went in. That’s football and it’s great when it goes your way."

"That’s right. We’re Roma and we need to keep doing what we’re doing. It’s no surprise – we’re a great side and you’ll see that we get even better."
