Sporting director Monchi believes Roma can still hold their heads high despite Saturday's 1-0 loss against Juventus.
The Giallorossi fell to a painful defeat against the reigning Serie A champions, as Medhi Benatia scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half.
Roma had late chances to equalise, but once again left Turin empty-handed.
“In the first half we did not play well, but also we have to say well done to Juventus,” Monchi said. “They are a great side. Not all defeats are something to be ashamed of, and this is one of those times I think.”
The Giallorossi have suffered three defeats in the league this season, all of them coming against top-of-the-table rivals.
‘If you look calmly at the three games [against Inter, Napoli and Juve], we could say that we deserved at least three draws, and perhaps to win against Inter," he noted. "But it’s true we are lacking something.
"But we also must take the positives from what we’ve done tonight against one of the best sides, not only in Italy but in Europe. Even if there are always things to improve."
