Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco has partnered Gerson in midfield with Kevin Strootman for Sunday's visit from Benevento - as Diego Perotti returns to the starting line-up for the first time in over a month.
With Radja Nainggolan and Lorenzo Pellegrini both suspended and Daniele De Rossi recovering from injury, it is Gerson who has received the nod in midfield alongside Strootman.
In attack, Edin Dzeko leads the line with Perotti, Cengiz Under and Stephan El Shaarawy playing behind him.
