Dzeko scored twice - either side of half-time - to help decide the game for the Giallorossi.
Roma were pretty much perfect tonight and you proved everyone wrong...
“No, we weren't perfect. It's best if we put it like that because when we don't win we're all rubbish... We produced a superb performance against the team that plays the best football in Italy.”
So what was wrong before? Why did Roma seem lost?
“I don't know and I don't want to think about the past. Winning today is a massive result because no one was expecting it. People had us down to get beaten 5-0. Instead they saw that we're not so bad after all.”
This stadium seems to bring you luck: that's two doubles in your last two appearances here with Roma...
“I don't count how many goals I scored when and where; I let other people look at the statistics. I am happy, though. I'd been waiting a long time to get back on the scoresheet and I managed it tonight."
You're back up to third for now. Do you think you'll need to keep playing like this to get in the Champions League?
“We're not looking that far ahead. We're just thinking of our next match against Torino in the league, a game we absolutely must win. We'll try to play the same way we did tonight and pick up another three points before we play in the Champions League again.”
Was there any criticism you found particularly harsh these last few weeks?
“It hasn't been easy, that's for sure, but I don't want to make excuses now. I'm not the type. I'm always looking forward and I just want to do my bit for the team. When I don't score, I think people perhaps don't see all the work I put in off the ball. It doesn't matter, though. Today I scored and we won a game nobody expected us to win.”
