Dzeko: I'm getting sharper every day

Edin Dzeko grabbed a brace against Debreceni on Sunday night to kick his pre-season preparations into higher gear.

After coming on in the second half at the Stadio Benito Stirpe in Frosinone, Dzeko delivered two fine finishes to help clinch a 5-2 win - his first goals of the current pre-season.

"How great it is to see all the fans again," Dzeko said afterwards.

"We had started to forget how great it is to have them with us. Let's hope that next season stadiums can get back to maximum capacity again."

He added: "I'm improving day-by-day. After two weeks of pre-season so far, slowly we are getting ready. As the coach has told us, every game is important and we always need to play to win.

"Today we played well, we've scored a few goals too. But from tomorrow we will be focused on the training camp in Portugal and the other games we have to come.

"Every game you win gives you a bit more confidence and adds a bit more positivity around the squad. Let's hope we continue like this, so we are at 100% when we start the season."
