    Fonseca pleased with professional display

Read what the coach had to say after Sunday's 5-0 win...

Coach Paulo Fonseca was satisfied with his players after a 5-0 win over Crotone on Sunday evening.

Borja Mayoral and Lorenzo Pellegrini both scored braces as Henrikh Mkhitaryan also got himself on the scoresheet, in what was a rampant second half display at the Stadio Olimpico.

Here's what Fonseca had to say after the game...

This team will be better when the players are better able to manage their energy through the full 90 minutes – would you agree with that?

“Yes. It’s true that a lot of these players played against Manchester United on Thursday and so that makes it difficult to keep up the same intensity for the entire game.

"It was a professional display today. It was in the first half too, when we created a lot of chances. Today it was important to try and factor in the tiredness of a few players and the result shows we managed that.”

Some of the young players look ready now, like Ebrima Darboe, while others like Bryan Reynolds perhaps still need to learn a bit more about Italian football. Is that fair to say?

“Darboe did really well, he’s showing the talent he has. Reynolds has just come to a different country and a different style of football, he’s going to need some time. Today he played at left-back for the first time, but unfortunately we had some selection issues and needed him to play there. He has talent, but he’s still young.”

What sort of team are you leaving to Jose Mourinho? Have you two talked at all?

“Yes, we’ve spoken. We are both Portuguese, there’s been no problem. I have a good relationship with him.”

In the future, will you be trying to beat Mourinho with another Italian side?

“Let’s see. Right now I can’t say anything.”
