The club can confirm that Nicolò Zaniolo suffered a trauma to the left knee during Italy’s match against Holland on Monday night.
On Tuesday, after returning to Rome, the player will undergo diagnostic and clinical tests to assess the full extent of the injury.
Zaniolo, 21, started Monday's UEFA Nations League game at the Amsterdam ArenA - which Italy won 1-0, thanks to Nicolò Barella's goal on the stroke of half-time.
Zaniolo suffered the injury moments before Barella's decisive strike - being replaced by Moise Kean as a result.
He was making his seventh appearance for his country.
