Fonseca: Rotation is going to be important

It was a short press conference for Paulo Fonseca on Wednesday, as he previewed Thursday's Europa League opener against Young Boys.

The game, which takes place in the Swiss city of Bern, gets underway at 18:55 local time.

Here's what the boss had to say...

The club’s development seems to be interesting: the squad has a blend of experience and younger talent. A mix like that can be successful. Are you satisfied with the group you have?

“Yes, I’m satisfied. It’s important to have experienced players – but also younger ones like Gonzalo Villar, Carles Perez and the others we have in the group. They are players that we can count on, both now and in the future."

What is the atmosphere like around the club for you now? Do you feel you have the confidence of the board?

“Yes, we are working together with the target of making Roma better with each day. I have the complete confidence of the club.”

Could we see five or six changes tomorrow, compared to the starting line-up against Benevento at the weekend?

“Yes it’s possible – perhaps even more than that. It’s important to manage the rotation during the current period. I have confidence in all my players and tomorrow could be a good opportunity to use a number of them.”
