Roma complete loan signing of Kalinic

AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of forward Nikola Kalinic on a season-long loan deal.

The Croatian forward joins the Giallorossi from La Liga side Atletico Madrid until 30 June 2020.

The Giallorossi will pay Atletico a €2 million fee for the loan, with an option to buy included at €9m.

“It feels great, because I am joining a big club,” Kalinic said.

“I am proud to become part of this team and this club. Roma has big history and I am very happy to be here.”

Kalinic has made 100 Serie A appearances in his career, for both Fiorentina and AC Milan.

He has also represented Hadjuk Split, Blackburn Rovers and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk during his career to date.

“Nikola has always been our preferred option, for his ability to both play as a main striker and to slot in alongside Edin Dzeko,” said club sporting director Gianluca Petrachi.

“We believe that with his abilities our attacking unit is now well-rounded and we are confident he will show his quality once again in Italy.”

Kalinic will wear the No. 19 shirt.
