Roma Women add Brazil international Andressa

Copa America in 2014 and the Panamerican Games the year after, and was at the World Cup in Canada last summer.

Roma Women are delighted to confirm the signing of Brazil international Andressa Alves ahead of the new season.

Andressa, 26, joins the Giallorossi from Barcelona – having recently represented her country at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.

“I know that Roma has a great history with Brazilian players,” Andressa said.

“I am delighted to become the first Brazilian to play for Roma Women.”

Predominantly a left-sided player but capable of playing on either flank or in a central attacking role, Andressa spent the last three seasons at Barcelona - helping the side win the Copa de la Reina in both 2017 and 2018.

Before that she played in Europe for French side Montpellier.

At this summer’s World Cup, her second appearance in the tournament, Andressa played in two matches for Brazil as the side were knocked out in the last-16 of the competition.

In total she has 84 caps for her country, scoring 18 goals.

She won the Copa America with her country in both 2014 and 2018, and the Panamerican Games a year after.

She also represented Brazil at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, as the host nation came fourth.

Andressa becomes Roma’s second confirmed signing of the summer, following the prior announcement of the addition of Slovenian all-rounder Kaja Erzen.

Betty Bavagnoli’s Roma side finished fourth in Serie A last season, in what was the club’s first-ever campaign.

Welcome to Rome, Andressa!
